Grand Rapids, Michigan Employment type: Full Time, In person, Monday - Friday We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our legal team in the Workers' Compensation Department. This entry level position involves providing comprehensive administrative and transcription support to multiple attorneys. Prior administrative experience is preferred. The following job responsibilities are not all inclusive. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a requirement. Responsibilities Send subpoena requests and various other court documents. Perform data entry, filing, and document management to ensure all case files are accurate and up-to-date. Support litigation processes through document review, transcription, and preparation of materials for attorneys and paralegals. Pull and put away files for attorneys on a weekly basis. Manage all closed files, including documenting, auditing, organizing file shelves, and establishing file destruction dates. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards. Experience Ability to perform detailed proofreading and transcription tasks accurately. Ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as filing, document review, phone etiquette, and clerical tasks efficiently within a busy office environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Very detail oriented. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficient typing skills (50+ WPM strongly preferred). Familiar with Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize assignments. Highly organized.
