Experience with medical malpractice or no-fault matters preferred. Experience with administrative or regulatory law is a plus. This position is in person / in office. This position requires a highly motivated and energetic person with a high degree of accuracy, excellent grammar, and keen proofreading and organizational skills. Candidate should have the ability to arrange workload in order of importance, as well as a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when needed. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with a professional demeanor, outstanding communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Responsibilities Consistently maintaining case files within the document management system, including attention to incoming documents, emails, etc. Maintaining attorney calendars and tasks, including but not limited to deadline reminders, appointments and follow-up dates. Coordination of scheduling and extensive calendar management. Reviewing, organizing, and summarizing medical records and other documents related to client files. Communicating with clients. Assisting in document management; drafting, proofing, formatting, and editing correspondence, memos, briefs, medical record summaries, forms, engagement letters Assembling and filing legal documents, both electronically and via traditional filing methods, in proper legal form, with appropriate attachments, references, and signatures. Proofreading and editing documents to ensure accuracy and professional appearance. Answering telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; forwarding messages to the intended parties; answering non-legal questions. Placing telephone calls as needed or requested. Arranging for and following up on proper delivery of documents/projects via Federal Express, UPS, Express Mail, courier runs, hand-deliveries, etc. Consistently entering and proofreading time entries in the billing system. Attending staff meetings, training sessions and other required employee meetings. Typing, dictation, copying, scanning, faxing and any other general office duties as needed. Maintaining confidentiality in all firm and client matters and adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Assisting with other firm work as directed by attorney or senior paralegal. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) Proficiency with Smokeball or similar case management software Superior organizational skills Experience with time-based billing Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Keen attention to details Calendar and deadline management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective problem-solving abilities Collaborates and cooperates well with other staff members Proactive attitude toward work Join us in making a difference by supporting vital healthcare legal services.
