This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work closely with legal teams, manage intricate case files, and provide essential administrative and research support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of procedural law, and proficiency in a wide range of legal areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These are primarily job duties that the paralegal must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation by the employer. 1. Review and analyze documentation provided by client: correspondence, notices, applications, notes, guaranties, etc. 2. Draft complaints, answers, routine notices, affidavits, motions, trial, appellate and other underlying documents. 3. Assist attorneys in effectuating recovery in prejudgment and post-judgment including tracking damages (i.e. interest calculation, costs and payments). 4. Perform legal research. 5. Assist attorneys in preparation of case for motions, hearings, and conferences in anticipation of trial. 6. Review and outline depositions, indexes and summarizes documents. 7. Utilize computerized litigation techniques and software when applicable.
KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Advanced knowledge of legal principles, concepts, terminology and procedures at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training/certification. 2. Ten years or more of on the job experience in complex commercial litigation. 3. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. 4. Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. 5. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff. 6. Expected to bill all time daily. 7. Confidence and experience to allow the candidate to not only identify concerns but to also invoke and propose solutions for review and considerations by the litigation team.ellence and professional growth.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
