Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal areas, focused primarily on family law. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help streamline case management, document review, and administrative tasks. IN-PERSON
position. Our office is located in Gastonia, NC. The office is open Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM and we close daily for our lunch break 12:30pm-1:35pm. Duties Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail. Manage case files and document management to ensure accurate and efficient recordkeeping. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Support project management initiatives by coordinating deadlines, tracking case progress, and organizing court filings or administrative submissions. Proofread and transcribe legal documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with court standards. Perform data entry and filing duties using document management systems while maintaining organized records for easy retrieval. Requirements Proven pleadings and other document preparation experience with a strong background in family law, wills, deeds, trust accounts, contracts, etc. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) Proper organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism. Exceptional proofreading and transcription skills to ensure error-free documentation. Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and other offices. Administrative experience supporting a busy law office environment including filing, data entry, clerical tasks. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while demonstrating strong attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to work well with others in a small office environment.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
