About SeidenFreed LLC SeidenFreed is a growing law firm with three locations throughout New Jersey, formed through the recent merger of two well-established practices. The firm has a significant family law practice as well as a growing criminal defense and domestic violence practice, with a strong reputation for delivering thoughtful, client-focused legal services. The Opportunity SeidenFreed is seeking a full-time Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support our Cranford office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the center of a fast-paced legal environment, working closely with attorneys while also serving as a key point of contact for clients and court personnel. The position involves a mix of substantive paralegal work and administrative support across criminal defense, domestic violence, and family law matters. Key Responsibilities Provide paralegal and administrative support primarily in criminal defense and domestic violence matters, with additional support for family law matters as needed Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, prosecutors' offices, and other parties Proofread and format legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence, and handle court filings as required Manage attorney calendars, court appearances, scheduling, and deadlines Organize and maintain client files, discovery, exhibits, and case materials Assist with trial and hearing preparation Handle incoming calls, emails, and client inquiries in a professional and responsive manner Coordinate with attorneys and support staff across the firm to assist with workflow and coverage as needed What You'll Bring Minimum of 4 years of legal administrative and/or paralegal experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities High level of organization and attention to detail Strong client-service skills and professionalism Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Nice to Have Experience in criminal defense, domestic violence, and/or family law Familiarity with New Jersey court procedures and electronic filing systems Paralegal certification or equivalent hands-on experience Experience with LEAP or similar practice management software Why This Role?
