Job Description

Job Summary:
Looking for a litigation role where you'll actually be valued? A well-established national law firm with an outstanding reputation is seeking an experienced defense-side (or contested litigation) Litigation Legal Assistant to join its Florham Park, NJ office. This isn't a back-fill due to turnover; the firm is growing, making this an exceptional opportunity to join a stable, collaborative team where employees tend to stay. If you're an experienced litigation professional who knows the ins and outs of defense (or contested) litigation, enjoys supporting attorneys, and can confidently hit the ground running, I'd love to speak with you.
What You'll Be Doing:
Preparing, proofreading, and filing legal documents State and Federal court e-filing Managing litigation calendars and court deadlines Trial preparation Time entry and client billing Opening new matters and processing conflicts requests Managing electronic files and document systems Coordinating attorney schedules, meetings, and travel
What You Need:
Defense-side litigation experience is required. Candidates should have a background that is primarily defense or contested litigation (minimum 80%). Some plaintiff experience is perfectly fine, but the majority of your litigation experience must come from the defense side.
Strong knowledge of:
State & Federal court procedures E-filing Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Electronic document management systems This is not an entry-level position. The attorneys are looking for someone who can come in with confidence and require minimal training.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday Fully on-site during your first 90 days After successful on-boarding, you'll be eligible to work remotely one day per week
