Job Description

Job description: Hill Wallack LLP is seeking a Paralegal with a minimum of 4 years of experience handling Workers Compensation matters. The ideal candidate will keep track of deadlines and outstanding tasks, help keep cases moving forward with frequent follow ups, and communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, attorneys, Judges and courts clerks.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain workers' compensation case files from inception through resolution. Monitor case deadlines, hearing schedules, and outstanding action items to ensure timely case progression. Coordinate daily case updates and strategy discussions with attorneys. Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, court personnel, and opposing counsel. Request, review, organize, and maintain medical records and other case-related documentation. Schedule hearings, depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and client appointments. Prepare correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents for attorney review and filing. Track and follow up on outstanding records requests, authorizations, and other case-related items. Maintain accurate calendars and provide attorneys with timely reminders regarding hearings, deadlines, and required actions. Respond to routine client inquiries and provide case status updates. Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures. Other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably supporting a Workers' Compensation practice Experience working in a law firm environment Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multiple competing priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience interacting professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, attorneys, judges and court personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
