Are you a college student considering a career in law, legal studies, public policy, criminal justice, or paralegal studies? Looking for an opportunity to gain real-world experience inside one of New Jersey's largest law firms? Szaferman, Lakind, Blumstein & Blader is seeking motivated, detail-oriented college students to join our Production Team as a Part-Time Legal Support Assistant. This position offers valuable exposure to the legal profession while developing organizational, administrative, and document management skills that are essential in every law office. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in exploring careers as attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, or other legal professionals. What You'll Learn How legal files are organized and maintained The lifecycle of legal documents Law firm operations and workflow Professional office and client service skills Exposure to multiple practice areas and attorneys Administrative and legal support responsibilities Responsibilities Prepare legal files for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, and organizing documents Scan documents into our electronic document management system Review scanned images for accuracy and completeness Organize and return documents to their proper files Assist with data entry and document indexing Help maintain production and office supply areas Provide occasional front desk reception coverage by greeting clients and directing visitors Complete additional office projects as assigned Qualifications Current college student or recent graduate preferred Interest in pursuing a career in law or the legal profession Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Dependable with excellent attendance Comfortable learning new technology Professional communication skills Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 25 pounds Schedule Part-time Monday through Friday Flexible scheduling during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) Additional availability during spring and summer months is preferred
