$60,000 - $69,000 per year (commensurate with experience) Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys with administrative and legal tasks in a fast-paced law firm environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and contracts. Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances. File legal documents electronically with state and federal courts. Maintain and organize case files, client records, and legal databases. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors. Coordinate document collection, discovery materials, and case-related records. Conduct basic legal and factual research as directed by attorneys. Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of filings and legal documentation. Assist with billing, time entry, expense reports, and other administrative functions. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or related legal support role. Experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or corporate legal department. Knowledge of New Jersey court procedures and e-filing systems preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with legal practice management and document management software. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting litigation, employment law, public law, real estate, corporate, or trust and estates practices. Familiarity with court rules, legal terminology, and document preparation. A paralegal certificate is a plus but not required.
