A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Assisting attorneys with drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives Preparing Medicaid applications and supporting documentation, and tracking eligibility requirements Assisting with guardianship proceedings, including preparing petitions and supporting documentation from filing through appointment Drafting and reviewing legal documents with precision and attention to detail Meeting with clients and their families to gather information and help explain processes with clarity and compassion Collaborating with attorneys and firm leadership on case strategy and workflow Preparing filings and supporting documentation for court and administrative proceedings as neededRequirements:
Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred Experience in estate planning or probate is preferred, but candidates with experience in other areas will be considered Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in person at the firm's Garden City, NY office (this is not a remote or hybrid role) Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $50,000-$80,000, based on relevant experience — candidates without direct experience in the firm's practice areas will start toward the lower end of the range with room to grow Performance bonuses in addition to base salary Opportunity for professional growth as the firm expands Direct mentorship and hands-on training in estate planning and elder law Collaborative, supportive office environment Apply today to learn more about this opportunity with a respected firm!
