Overview We are seeking a motivated Bilingual Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves supporting attorneys across various practice areas by managing legal documents, conducting research, and facilitating effective communication with clients. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and fluent in both Spanish and English, ready to contribute to our firm's mission of outstanding service. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with legal research, document review, and case management across multiple practice areas including immigration law, civil litigation, family law, and more. Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and filings with precision and confidentiality. Manage client communications in both Spanish and English, ensuring clear and professional interactions. Maintain accurate case files using document management system 8amMyCase. Support procedural tasks like filing documents with courts or agencies and scheduling appointments or interviews. Conduct legal research to gather relevant case law and statutes. Coordinate internal workflows to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to firm policies. Skills Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of legal support functions including legal drafting, proofreading, and document management. Experience with a variety of practice areas such as Immigration, family, criminal and civil law. Proficiency in legal research. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Strong project management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management. Effective interviewing skills for client intake; professional phone etiquette; meticulous proofreading abilities.
