We are looking for a responsible Administrative Legal Assistant/Paralegal to perform a variety of administrative, legal and clerical tasks associated with the function of our Law Office. Duties of the Administrative Legal Assistant/Paralegal include providing litigation and clerical support to attorneys, daily processing, scanning, documenting, incoming mail, emails, and faxes, in office filing and file management, docketing litigation deadlines, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company's general administrative activities. This individual will report directly to the managing attorney and will assist in the performance of litigation related tasks.
Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls Receive, scan to files, docket, and process incoming mail, emails and faxes Independently work on assigned tasks from general task list and as assigned Perform work to ready files for trials or mediations Prepare correspondence and emails, letters, faxes, and scan documents Maintain the office's computer and physical filing systems Provide individual attorney assistance services such as assisting with correspondence, pleadings, billing and follow up Other as requested or assigned
Skills:
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Administrative Assistant Knowledge of office management and procedures Working knowledge of Timeslips, TABS and/or Legal X billing programs preferable Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word and Excel), and Adobe Acrobat Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work Attention to detail and problem solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task College degree (business or legal) or comparable experience as a
