Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support multiple attorneys with complex legal matters, with a strong emphasis on appellate work . The ideal candidate will have substantial experience supporting appellate matters, including legal research, document preparation, record review, brief preparation, and deadline management. Immigration experience is a significant plus , particularly experience with USCIS procedures, immigration filings, visa categories, labor certification, consular processing, and adjustment of status. Key Responsibilities Draft, proofread, and edit complex legal documents, briefs, motions, and correspondence . Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other legal research databases . Prepare case summaries, factual compilations, chronologies, and other case materials. Assist with appellate matters , including record review, appendix preparation, citation checking, and brief formatting. Track and manage appellate and litigation deadlines . Coordinate between trial counsel and appellate teams. Organize case files, discovery materials, and electronic documents. Ensure filings comply with applicable court rules and formatting requirements . Coordinate with vendors, including translation and document-service providers. Communicate with clients and assist attorneys with case status updates. Manage calendars and deadlines for multiple attorneys. Assist other paralegals with workload and coverage when needed. Handle billing and time-entry responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Immigration Responsibilities Assist with USCIS filings and procedures . Support matters involving various visa categories and classifications . Assist with labor certification/PERM processes and prevailing wage determinations . Support consular processing and adjustment of status matters. Track immigration timelines and priority dates . Assist with corporate immigration compliance and verification processes. Qualifications 3+ years of legal/paralegal experience required; 4+ years preferred. Strong appellate experience is highly preferred and will be a key consideration. Experience with appellate filings, legal research, record review, briefs, appendices, and deadline management. Immigration experience is a significant plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management. Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines. Strong legal research, writing, and proofreading skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team-oriented approach. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure legal environment. Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred . ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred , but equivalent experience may be considered. Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite . Experience with Westlaw or comparable legal research databases . Familiarity with legal document and case management systems. Experience with trial or appellate software is a plus. Work Environment Professional law-office environment. Primarily office-based/desk-based work. Must be able to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
