Litigation Paralegal

Job Description

Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C. (FLB), one of the largest law firms in the Lehigh Valley, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Litigation & Trial Practice Group. This position will work closely with our litigation attorneys on matters from initial case development and discovery through dispositive motions and trial. We are looking for an experienced paralegal who can independently manage case details and deadlines, navigate state and federal court filing requirements, and help keep complex litigation matters organized and moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation professional who enjoys substantive work, direct attorney interaction and being an integral part of a collaborative legal team. Key Responsibilities Manage litigation matters throughout all stages of the case, including case development, discovery, motion practice and trial preparation. Prepare and coordinate electronic filings in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with applicable court rules, procedures and filing requirements. Draft, proofread, format and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence and other legal documents. Coordinate and manage discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production and tracking. Organize and maintain electronically stored information, discovery databases and large case files. Review and analyze case materials and assist attorneys with identifying key documents, facts and issues. Maintain case calendars and monitor filing deadlines, discovery obligations, hearings and other critical dates. Prepare exhibits, deposition materials, hearing materials, trial binders and other litigation support materials. Assist with deposition and trial preparation, including witness files, exhibits and logistics. Conduct factual and legal research in support of case development. Coordinate with clients, experts, court personnel, opposing counsel and other parties involved in litigation matters. Schedule depositions, hearings, meetings and other case-related proceedings. Support attorneys during hearings and trials as needed. Maintain accurate, organized and complete electronic case files and records. Qualifications 3+ years of substantive litigation paralegal experience. Hands-on experience with state and federal court filing procedures and electronic filing systems. Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania litigation practice. New Jersey litigation experience is strongly preferred. Experience managing discovery, document productions and electronically stored information. Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules and legal terminology. Excellent drafting, proofreading and document-formatting skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters, competing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts and outside parties. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and legal practice or case management technology. Experience with e-discovery platforms is preferred. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and take ownership of assigned matters while remaining part of a collaborative team. Paralegal certificate, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Why FLB?
