We are looking for a Paralegal to join a busy immigration legal practice in Pennsylvania. This permanent position supports attorneys through case preparation, legal research, and document management across a range of immigration matters. The ideal candidate brings strong writing ability, careful attention to detail, and the capacity to keep multiple matters moving efficiently in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit immigration filings assigned by attorneys, ensuring applications are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Assemble supporting documentation for nonimmigrant matters, including employment-based petitions and related applications.
- Support immigrant visa and adjustment of status cases by organizing evidence, preparing forms, and coordinating filing packages.
- Assist with removal defense matters by gathering records, drafting affidavits, and preparing properly formatted court submissions.
- Review client-provided materials, identify missing information, and summarize case facts for attorney review and strategy discussions.
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and case-related reports with clarity and attention to procedural requirements.
- Maintain orderly electronic and physical case files so records remain accessible, current, and audit-ready.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and track developments in immigration laws, regulations, and policy guidance.
- Coordinate with attorneys and colleagues to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and keep case progress on schedule.
- At least 2 years of experience in a paralegal or related legal support role.
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related discipline, or an associate degree combined with paralegal certification or comparable experience.
- Prior exposure to immigration law is preferred, though candidates with broader legal experience will also be considered.
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to produce precise, well-prepared documents and correspondence.
- Excellent organizational abilities and close attention to detail when handling multiple active matters.
- Comfort working independently while also contributing effectively within a team-based legal environment.
- Experience with case management software, document handling, and litigation or trial preparation support is beneficial.
