Elevate Law Group is looking for an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our small, collaborative, and growing firm. We're looking for someone who knows bankruptcy inside and out, can hit the ground running, and takes pride in owning their work from initial information gathering through filing and case administration.
Key Responsibilities include:
Draft and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and plans under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13. Prepare and take primary responsibility for bankruptcy schedules and statements, including gathering and analyzing financial information, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring schedules are complete and accurate before attorney review. Work with clients to obtain necessary information and documentation and follow up on outstanding items. Review client financial information and supporting documentation for completeness and consistency; identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential issues for attorney review. Manage case calendars and monitor critical deadlines. Maintain organized and accurate electronic files and case records. Conduct legal and factual research using PACER, court dockets, and financial records. Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, trustees, courts, and opposing counsel. What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of bankruptcy paralegal or senior legal assistant experience, preferably including business and/or consumer bankruptcy and debtor-creditor litigation. Strong knowledge of Chapter 11 procedures and filings; familiarity with Chapters 7, 12, and/or 13 preferred. Demonstrated, hands-on experience preparing bankruptcy schedules and statements. Strong knowledge of federal and local bankruptcy court rules and procedures. Familiarity with preference and fraudulent transfer litigation. Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and meet reasonable billable-hour expectations. Sound judgment about when an issue can be handled independently and when attorney input is needed. Proficiency in PACER/ECF, Westlaw, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal document management systems. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred. What we offer We believe great people deserve great support. A Few Logistics This role requires regular in-office collaboration, with hybrid flexibility available after onboarding. Monday-Friday schedule, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with flexibility in start and end times. We are open to candidates seeking between 30-40 hours per week, although full-time (37.5 hours) is preferred.
