Full-Time Position Summary We are a growing, multi-unit franchise organization seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Corporate Paralegal to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, staying ahead of deadlines, and managing multiple priorities. The Corporate Paralegal will support several areas of the business, including commercial real estate and lease administration, municipal licensing and permitting, property tax matters, corporate compliance, and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate effectively with internal leadership, landlords, government agencies, outside consultants, and other business partners. Key Responsibilities Commercial Lease Administration Manage a portfolio of commercial real estate leases, amendments, renewals, easements, and landlord waivers across multiple locations. Maintain and oversee lease tracking, including renewal options, expirations, rent increases, notice deadlines, insurance requirements, and other critical dates. Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and internal leadership regarding maintenance matters, tenant improvement allowances, estoppel certificates, and other lease-related issues. Identify opportunities to improve and optimize existing lease arrangements. Municipal Licensing & Permitting Oversee operational licensing and permitting requirements, including health permits, fire permits, certificates of occupancy, building and sign permits, and business tax receipts. Track local and state permit renewals to help prevent compliance gaps or interruptions to operations. Manage annual property tax assessments, billings, and escrow reconciliations. Work collaboratively with landlords and outside tax consultants on property tax assessments and appeals. Compliance & Corporate Governance Assist with corporate compliance requirements, mandatory reporting, corporate filings, and policy updates. Maintain corporate filings, board resolutions, and ownership records for subsidiaries and LLCs. Assist with internal compliance audits, risk management documentation, and insurance certificate tracking. Corporate Acquisitions & Transactional Support Support corporate development and acquisition activity from due diligence through closing and post-acquisition integration. Draft, review, organize, and maintain transaction documents, including purchase agreements, lease assignments and assumptions, bills of sale, and closing checklists. Coordinate entity formations, foreign qualifications, certificates of good standing, and corporate resolutions across multiple operating entities. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate. Minimum of 6 years of corporate or law firm paralegal experience. Experience supporting franchise, retail, restaurant, or other multi-unit operations is a strong plus. Strong experience with commercial lease administration, lease abstraction, database management, and legal document review. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Comfortable communicating with government agencies, landlords, vendors, consultants, and internal leadership. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office. Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of responsibilities and competing deadlines with accuracy. Strong track record of meeting deadlines, following through, and proactively driving results.
