What You'll Do Handle calls and client intake calls and serve as a warm, professional first point of contact Manage the senior attorney's calendar as this is critical to the role (must be able to schedule hearings, depositions, etc., and know how to balance the attorney's other responsibilities accordingly, and weekly preparing the attorney for what is to come) File pleadings and assist with discovery Provide litigation support, including building Bates charts and Bates labeling Coordinate and attend client meetings, handling client needs with tact and a strong personality Juggle competing tasks and pivot quickly as priorities shift Occasional after-hours work may be required, though this is not the norm (need a "will help to get it done" personality) What We're Looking For Prior legal experience is required (law firm, litigation, or comparable setting) Familiarity with pleadings, discovery, and court filing procedures Strong calendar and task management skills with the ability to shift gears seamlessly Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-friendly demeanor Ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying responsive Comfort with document-heavy litigation workflows (Bates labeling, exhibit/chart preparation) Firm uses Clio software, so some familiarity with that is helpful Compensation & Requirements $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience No salary cap on hours worked; all additional hours are paid as they are billed Background check required Positive professional references required Position Details Part-time to start, with potential to grow into full-time Mostly remote, with required in-person availability in Houston and Fort Bend County Flexible scheduling available for the right candidate, but must be available to work core hours between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. To apply, submit your resume and a brief note about your legal experience.
