Job Description

Litigation Legal Assistant opportunity with multi-state insurance defense firm. Seeking experienced legal assistants with at least 2 years of prior litigation exp. Must be organized, ability to multi-task and proficient in MS Office programs. Experience with time management software is a plus. The Legal Assistant is a vital role and performs administrative and clerical tasks to support the professional and paraprofessional by performing administrative and clerical duties. The Legal Assistant reports to any and all assigned team members including, but not limited to, Associate, Partners and/or Principal Attorneys with whom they work, Office Managers, Billing Clerks, Administrator and/or the Director of Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft, proofread and/or disseminate legal documents and correspondence as directed by the attorney. Administrative duties to include, but not limited to, copying, answering and directing telephone calls. Scheduling of hearing, depositions, mediations, conferences, examinations under oath and other events as directed by the attorney. Managing tasking system to ensure timely completion of all tasks assigned and updates to deadlines. Preparing legal professionals and paraprofessionals for events to include, but not limited to, compiling and organizing documents, preparing binders and/or folders. Gathering and organizing records, documents and other materials. Timely and efficiently maintaining case management data within case management program. Other duties as assigned.

$19.00 - $28.00 per hour
