Commercial collections law office seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to help manage a high-volume litigation, judgment enforcement, and collections docket.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and oversee the process for domesticating judgments into debtors' home states and other jurisdictions where enforcement is required. Coordinate judgment domestication with local counsel, including obtaining necessary judgment documents, tracking filing and notice/service requirements, and monitoring completion. Ensure domesticated judgments are promptly transitioned into post-judgment enforcement and collection efforts. Provide local counsel with case information, supporting documents, and supplemental information as needed. Calendar and monitor hearings, court appearances, filing deadlines, and other litigation dates. Track case status and follow up with attorneys and local counsel to ensure matters continue moving. Assign matters for attorney review, briefing, motion practice, or other substantive legal work. Assist with preparation and coordination for upcoming hearings. Review incoming pleadings, discovery demands, and court notices and escalate significant issues to supervising counsel. Maintain accurate case notes, internal tracking, and status updates across a large portfolio of matters.
Qualifications:
5+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred in New York commercial litigation. Experience in commercial collections, creditors' rights, judgment enforcement, judgment domestication, or civil litigation strongly preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to independently manage numerous active matters and deadlines.
Remote/Hybrid:
This is a hybrid remote/in-office position, with the in-office component based at either our New York or New Jersey office.
Pay:
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
