The Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys in all phases of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience managing complex litigation matters in federal courts, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute forums. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically adept, and comfortable handling multiple matters with competing deadlines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities Litigation Support Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, from pre‑filing through trial and post‑judgment Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, exhibits, and correspondence Manage filings in federal and state courts, including electronic filings via CM/ECF and other jurisdiction‑specific systems Prepare and maintain matter chronologies, case summaries, and litigation status reports Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and orders Discovery & Evidence Management Assist with discovery efforts, including document collection, review, production, and privilege logs Coordinate with attorneys, vendors, and clients on e‑discovery processes and platforms Organize and manage document databases and trial exhibits Assist with preparation for depositions, including deposition notices, exhibit binders, and summaries Support fact and expert witness preparation IP‑Specific Litigation Tasks Assist with matters involving patent infringement, trademark disputes, licensing disputes, and trade secret claims Help manage technical documents, prior art, prosecution histories, and product documentation Coordinate with patent prosecution teams as needed for litigation support Assist with PTAB proceedings, ITC investigations, or international IP disputes, where applicable Trial & Hearing Support Prepare trial binders, exhibit lists, witness lists, and demonstratives Coordinate logistics for hearings, depositions, and trials (in‑person and remote) Provide onsite or virtual trial support as needed Administrative & Practice Support Maintain accurate records in document management and docketing systems Assist with client communications and coordination Support attorneys with billing entries related to paralegal tasks Contribute to process improvement initiatives and best practices within the litigation team Qualifications Required Associate's degree or bachelor's degree; paralegal certificate helpful Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in an IP or complex litigation practice Strong knowledge of federal court procedures and e‑filing systems Experience managing discovery and document production Excellent organizational, proofreading, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems Preferred Prior experience in patent or other IP litigation Familiarity with PTAB or ITC proceedings Experience with e‑discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity or similar tools) Experience supporting trials or evidentiary hearings Knowledge of legal citation and formatting standards Core Competencies Attention to detail and accuracy Strong time management and prioritization skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional discretion and confidentiality Comfort working with highly technical subject matter Work Environment & Expectations Collaborative, team‑oriented IP litigation practice May require overtime during trial preparation, hearings, or critical deadlines Hybrid work arrangements with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
