Minimum Qualifications:
A paralegal certificate in compliance with CA Business & Professions Code §§6450 (c)(3) a plus; 3+ years' experience; civil litigation experience a plus; Self-starter with the ability to manage 40+ cases as a team; Exceptional organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills; Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; Professional demeanor and positive attitude; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Westlaw; Ability to e-file in State and Federal Court; and Format documents, including TOC and TOA. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Investigating the facts of a case and drafting case reports; Communicating and corresponding with clients; Calculating civil litigation deadlines; calendaring in Microsoft Outlook; Conducting research on relevant laws, regulations & legal articles; Organizing and maintaining documents in paper and electronic filing systems; Coordinating, scheduling and preparing for consultations, client meetings, depositions, inspections, mediations, arbitrations; Drafting correspondence, complaints, discovery requests and responses, briefs, motions and other common civil litigation documents; Performing state, federal, and appellate court filings, including e-filing; and Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibits, charts, trial notebook, voir dire, jury instructions, verdict forms, subpoenas, etc. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with the possibility of overtime.
