60,000 to 75,000 annually A well‑established civil defense firm in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling high‑volume litigation matters. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or workers compensation who is comfortable preparing cases for litigation and managing complex files in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with all phases of insurance defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation Draft and prepare motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence Organize, review, and summarize medical records, claim files, and other case documentation Prepare discovery materials, deposition summaries, witness files, and case chronologies Coordinate depositions, expert communications, IMEs, and scheduling Manage document production, including indexing, tracking, and maintaining case materials Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and case notebooks Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and docketing information Communicate with clients, experts, carriers, and opposing counsel Support attorneys with administrative litigation tasks as needed Qualifications Minimum 3 to 5 years of insurance defense litigation paralegal experience Background in medical malpractice or workers compensation preferred Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court rules Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case or document management systems Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and support several attorneys at once High attention to detail and strong client‑service mindset Work Environment Hybrid schedule with a blend of onsite and remote work Summer Hours program Collaborative, supportive defense litigation team Opportunity to work across multiple insurance defense practice areas
