Track deadlines, court requirements, outstanding documentation, and the status of individual matters. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and paper case files. Assist the attorney in preparing for client meetings, Probate Court proceedings, and other case-related matters. Prepare correspondence and follow up with clients and other parties to obtain information and documentation. Provide administrative support to the attorney, including data entry, scanning, filing, scheduling, and other clerical responsibilities. During the daily lunch period, assist with front desk coverage, including answering phones and greeting clients and visitors. Perform other duties as necessary to support the efficient operation of the law office. Skills and Qualifications Prior experience in a law office, probate practice, estate planning practice, or related legal setting is preferred. Familiarity with Connecticut Probate Court procedures is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and family members during often sensitive estate-related matters. Experience with electronic filing, document management, and legal case management systems is a plus. Professional telephone and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately. Position This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who wants to develop or expand his or her experience in Connecticut probate, estate administration, estate planning, trusts, and conservatorships.
