AT LEAST TWO YEARS' LEGAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Boutique law firm with a concentration in consumer law located in North Charleston seeks legal secretary with 2+ years' experience to support a thriving practice. Ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for administrative tasks and serve as case support to the firm's sole practitioner. Ideal candidate is articulate, has strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and prioritize workload effectively. Attention to detail, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and strong editing and proofreading skills are required for this position. The firm offers a competitive salary, paid holidays from the first day of employment, sick leave and vacation time after one year of employment, a private office in a non-smoking building, and an easygoing environment. If you feel you are qualified for this position, please e-mail your resume via this ad. ►•Qualifications & Skills • ■ Experience preparing legal documents, including complaints, orders, and discovery ■ 2+ years of experience working in a law firm ■ Self-motivated with passion for law and helping others ■ Keen organization skills with ability to focus and prioritize tasks ■ Proficiency in Windows-based Microsoft Office programs required, including Word and Excel. Some proficiency in Adobe Acrobat helpful but not necessary. ■ Excellent grasp of grammar in both writing and speaking ■ Maintain a professional appearance ■ Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills ■ Possess excellent critical and analytical thinking skills ►•Job Duties • ■ Assist with answering phones and performing initial client intake(s). This is a telephone-intensive job so a professional speaking voice is mandatory. ■ Serve as liaison between client and attorney including conveying information and status updates to client ■ Organize and maintain client's electronic and physical files ■ Update and maintain firm's case management system ■ Maintain Attorney's calendar including scheduling court related matters, client meetings, case reviews, and tracking deadlines and follow-up ■ Processing incoming and outgoing daily mail and emails ■ Routine filing ■ Prepare correspondence and timely draft pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as instructed by attorney ■ Assist with trial preparation ►Full-time (8:30 am-5:30 pm)
