Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Office Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This position is responsible for assisting two attorneys. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys and legal staff, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings. Assist with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case development across various practice areas such as estate planning, UCC law, tribal law, patent law, and personal injury law. Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and reports with precision and attention to detail. Organize and maintain case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all files are accurate, complete, and easily accessible. Handle client communication professionally via phone and email; prepare summaries of client interviews and assist with client onboarding processes. Review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with procedural law standards; support document review processes for civil litigation support. Manage filing systems—both electronic and physical—ensuring timely submission of documents to courts or agencies while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Qualifications Prior experience as a paralegal or legal support staff in a law office setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and procedural law principles across multiple practice areas including family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, and general & commercial litigation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with familiarity with document management systems like iManage or PCLaw. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail for proofreading and legal drafting tasks. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professionalism at all times. Experience with legal case management software and document review processes is advantageous. Demonstrated research skills combined with a solid understanding of procedural laws relevant to civil litigation support.
