This position assists with case preparation, document management, client communication, scheduling, filing, and other day-to-day legal office functions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist attorneys and paralegals with daily case management and administrative tasks. Format, proofread, and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, notices, and other documents. Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files. E-file pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, and other documents with applicable courts and agencies. Monitor court deadlines, hearings, meetings, and appointments. Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other parties. Answer and route telephone calls, respond to emails, and assist with client inquiries. Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, and other case-related events. Assist with preparation of discovery, exhibits, trial materials, and attorney work product. Obtain and organize records, correspondence, evidence, and other case-related information. Enter and maintain accurate case information in our case management system. Assist with billing, invoicing, expense tracking, and administrative functions as needed. Conduct basic legal and factual research under the direction of an attorney or paralegal. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and firm records. Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Associate college degree or legal education preferred. Prior experience in a law firm, legal department, court, or professional office preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent organization and attention to detail required. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, legal software, and electronic filing systems. Professional telephone and client-service skills required. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a legal team required. Proficiency of legal terminology and court procedures is preferred. Background check, drug test, and credit check upon hiring. Benefits Benefits will be available after 90-day satisfactory period. Must be familiar with Civil litigation. Texas state and/or federal courts. Electronic filing systems. Case management software. Must be able to prepare pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and exhibits within 60 days of hired date. Must be able to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties. Work Environment This is an entry level-position located in our professional law office. Occasionally you will be required to attend court proceedings, meetings, depositions, inspections or other case-related events that might require before and after hours.
