The ideal candidate will have a strong civil litigation background (defense preferred) and significant experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and trial attendance. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is on-site 5 days per week. As part of our litigation team, the paralegal will work closely with attorneys handling a broad range of matters, including personal injury, premises liability, construction, transportation, business litigation, and insurance defense.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in all phases of civil litigation from inception through trial. Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery management including discovery requests and discovery responses, subpoenas, and case correspondence. Manage case files and maintain litigation calendars. Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances. Review, organize, summarize, and analyze case records. Prepare trial exhibits, witness files, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks. Coordinate logistics and provide support during trial. Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience (defense preferred) as a paralegal. Trial experience preferred. Strong knowledge of State and Federal Court Procedures, Rules of Evidence, and ability to comply with litigation deadlines. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation case management software. Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
