A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

About Us:
Kheystone Legal is an established law firm known for its commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. Its founder and managing partner, Timothy Bird, has been zealously representing clients for over 30 years. We handle a diverse range of cases, involving both transactional and litigation work. Here at Kheystone Legal, we also place an emphasis on family and work life balance. In fact, the firm is named after the founding partner's children (that's why there's an "H").
Position Overview:
As a paralegal with Kheystone Legal, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process, from client intake through settlement or trial.
Responsibilities:
While the attorney will be handling a wide range of cases, responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting pleadings and other legal documents
  • Preparing for, and attending, court proceedings, depositions and settlement conferences
  • Managing discovery and document production
  • Collaborating with partners and support staff on case strategy and execution
  • Initiating and maintaining client relationships and provide excellent client service
Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate, associate's degree, or equivalent experience preferred Prior litigation experience strongly preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
