Hirschler, a dynamic, multispecialty law firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Richmond team supporting our growing Community Association Practice. Working alongside our attorneys, you will support the full range of matters affecting condominium, homeowners, cooperative, and other common interest communities. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, respect for discretion and confidentiality, and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines. This paralegal must demonstrate a positive representation of the firm's commitment to client service and must demonstrate the desire to be an essential part of a busy practice as a team player.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage all aspects of the firm's Community Association Practice, supporting attorneys as needed; Assist in the preparation of governing documents, amendments, exhibits, schedules, and association board resolutions; Manage required community association and condominium filings with governing agencies; Analyze governing documents, real property legal descriptions, and surveys; prepare summaries; identify compliance and enforcement issues; perform document recordings as needed; and coordinate with title companies, boards, and outside organizations regarding transitions, resale disclosures, and satisfaction of closing conditions; Perform other duties and special projects as needed to support attorneys, clients, and the firm.
Skills/Qualifications:
Previous paralegal experience required - preferably 3-5 years in related community association or commercial real estate transactional matters; College degree or paralegal certificate preferred; Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office; Highly developed communication skills with people in various positions and roles and must be able to work efficiently with attorneys, clients, and outside organizations; Demonstrated commitment to client service; Ability to handle stressful situations with a professional demeanor; Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities necessary; Excellent grammar, proofreading skills, and attention to detail required.
