Job Description

Long Reimer Winegar LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Jackson office. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working in a law office, with experience in the areas of estate planning, real estate, and business law preferred. Responsibilities Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents accurately and in accordance with court requirements and deadlines. Manage attorney calendars, court dates, case deadlines, appointments, and meetings. Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, courts, attorneys, opposing counsel, and staff. Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical client files and case records. Assist with client intake, information gathering, and document collection. Monitor case deadlines and provide timely follow-up to ensure compliance with important dates and requirements. Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to general client and office inquiries. Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence, and legal documents. Maintain organized office records, databases, and administrative systems. Provide administrative and operational support to attorneys and staff to promote an efficient and professional office workflow. Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a substantial workload while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. The following skills and qualifications are required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude. People-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing excellent service. Able to collaborate effectively and contribute to a productive small-team environment.
