Job Description

Position Public Safety Enforcement Officer Division:
Public Safety Department:
Livingstone Campus Police Reports to: Chief of Police Position Summary The Campus Public Safety Enforcement Officer enforces departmental and Livingstone College student handbook polices to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include patrolling campus and off campus grounds, monitoring campus traffic de-escalating conflicts, and responding to emergencies when needed. Their primary function is to enforce all parking, speeding, careless driving violations and other college violations as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The results you will deliver each day that matter most!
Patrol :
Campus, off-campus, parking lots, residential halls to enforce student code of conduct and any campus violations.
Field Inspections:
inspect areas that may need safety, stop, no parking, no smoking, no loitering signs
Complaint Investigation:
Respond to faculty/staff/student complaints and reports regarding parking, trash accumulation, or disorderly crowds around the campus and off campus owned/leased/rented sites.
Compliance & Enforcement:
Issue warning notices, citations, boot immobilizing or towing when required due to college violations, emails from president's office concerning parking.
Documentation & Reporting:
Take photographic evidence, write detailed inspection narratives, and maintain accurate records of all cases.
Public Communication:
Educate students, faculty/staff on college violations/student code of conduct.
Legal Proceedings:
Prepare case files, present evidence, and testify during administrative hearings or municipal court appearances if subpoena.
Additional Duties:
As assigned/needed. Qualification Requirements General computer operations, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Office machines, such as scanners, computers, copiers, and fax machines; and of all other office practices and procedures. Able to maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor while working in a fast-paced environment. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, students, co-workers, vendors, and the entire campus family. Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and by e- mail. Meet deadlines on assigned tasks and other activities. Effectively respond to a stressful or high-pressure environment. Ability to organize, prioritize, and carry out field work with minimal supervision. Education/ Experience What you will need to be successful! High School diploma/GED required. To be successful, this employee must understand and have a clear understanding of college polices and student handbook rules. The ability to adapt to a growing population and a working knowledge of updated or new policies Must have a valid NC driver's license or able to obtain one within 2 months if you have a valid license from another state.
