A Parking Enforcement Officer is needed for a department at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Will assist their team by:

Patrol assigned parking lots and garages by foot and vehicle to ensure compliance with university parking regulations and maintain safe, orderly parking operations. Assist with vehicle booting and relocation efforts as needed to support operational needs Monitor the condition and operation of parking meters, signs, and enforcement equipment; report damaged, missing, or vandalized infrastructure requiring repair. Assist with the placement, maintenance, and pickup of barricades, signs, cones, and other traffic control equipment in support of campus events, construction projects, and operational needs. Support parking and traffic operations for special events and other university activities. Serve as a professional ambassador for Transportation & Parking Services by providing courteous customer service and educating the campus community on parking regulations, payment options, permit requirements, and campus parking locations. Occasional night and weekend work will be required to support operational needs. This is a temporary, full-time position, hiring immediately and going through December 13, 2026. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM, however occasional night and weekend work will be required to support operational needs. Pay is $19 per hour.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license in good standing to operate state vehicles Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, position will be performed primarily outdoors and require working in a variety of weather conditions Must be able to lift 50 pounds Experience with technology, will be required to operate handheld device for enforcement and access computer records for assignments 2-3 years of prior customer service experience
