Director of MAPS Position Summary The MAPS Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) provides recovery support to justice-involved individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. Using personal recovery experience, the CRPS serves as a mentor, advocate, motivator and positive role model while helping participants build recovery skills, overcome barriers and successfully transition back into the community. Key Responsibilities Provide peer recovery support, coaching, education and encouragement. Facilitate recovery groups and assist participants with individualized recovery and WRAP plans. Help participants identify strengths, needs, barriers and short-term recovery goals. Connect participants with treatment, mutual-aid groups and community resources. Support the program dorm's recovery-focused community through daily meetings and participant engagement. Collaborate with PBSO, Wellpath, treatment providers and other community partners. Maintain accurate records, reports, attendance logs and confidential participant information. Follow Rebel Recovery, Florida Certification Board and PBSO policies and ethical standards. Maintain CRPS certification and participate in continuing professional development. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Certified Recovery Peer Specialist or eligible to obtain CRPS certification within six months of hire. At least two years of personal recovery experience and willingness to appropriately share lived experience. Level 2 and FDLE background checks required. Valid driver's license and ability to drive during early-morning or evening hours. Ability to work independently and collaborate with healthcare, treatment and correctional professionals. Strong communication, active-listening and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP). Prior experience with the criminal justice system or institutional settings is preferred. This position is based inside the Palm Beach County West Detention Center in Belle Glade and requires strict compliance with all PBSO security and confidentiality requirements.
Pay:
$17.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
