Northwest Kansas Community Corrections (NWKCC) is seeking a motivated and dedicated Adult Intensive Supervision Officer (ISO) to join our team serving the 23rd Judicial District . This full-time position is based in Hays, Kansas , and provides community supervision to justice-involved adults residing in Ellis, Gove, Rooks, and Trego Counties . Position Summary The Intensive Supervision Officer is responsible for supervising adult offenders placed on Community Corrections probation while utilizing evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism and promote successful reintegration into the community. The position combines case management, community supervision, risk assessment, court involvement, and offender rehabilitation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive offender intake and orientation. Complete validated risk and needs assessments, including the WRNA and LS/CMI as required or necessary to identify personal risk factors. Develop individualized case plans that address criminogenic risk factors and promote long-term success. Supervise probationers through office visits, home contacts, employment visits, treatment contacts, and community field work.
Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, and Graduated Behavior Responses. Monitor compliance with court orders and conditions of supervision, as well as court payments and supervision fees. Coordinate services with treatment providers, employers, law enforcement, and community partners. Maintain accurate case records and complete required documentation and database entries within established timeframes. Prepare court reports and testify during court hearings when necessary. Monitor drug and alcohol testing and complete necessary documentation. Emphasize, affirm, and reward compliant behavior while also holding clients accountable for non-compliant behavior and imposing graduated sanctions as needed based on the agency's sanctions guide. Respond appropriately to violations and public safety concerns while balancing offender accountability with opportunities for behavior change.
