Job Description

The Lincoln County District Attorney's Office is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented professional to serve as our Victim/Witness Advocate. This position plays a critical role in helping victims and witnesses navigate the criminal justice system, providing support during difficult circumstances, and ensuring they remain informed and connected throughout the court process. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Wiscasset, Maine. Regular hours are
M-F, 8A-4
30P, with occasional additional hours required to accommodate court schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years of experience in counseling, advocacy, legal office or law enforcement is required; experience with the court system is highly desired Associate's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling or related human relations coursework, or the equivalent in education and related work experience Excellent listening, oral/written communication, public relations and speaking skills Organization and prioritization skills. Dedication to meeting deadlines. Must be able to work under stressful conditions and positively interact with juvenile and/or adult victims and their caregivers in challenging situations Excellent computer and software experience and proficiency in Windows environment Able to pass post-offer background and criminal and motor vehicle record(s) check
Salary Range:
$25.26-$34.67 per hour (Pay Steps 1-17). This position is assigned to a pay scale that includes 17 steps; however, new employees are typically expected to be placed near the beginning of the range, with initial placement generally occurring within Steps 1-8 based on qualifications, experience, and applicable compensation policies.
