Meets with offenders and families, monitors activities, and checks to see that the terms of the probation are being followed. Arranges social services for the offender such as drug rehab or job training; writes reports and recommendations to the court.

Hourly Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Probation Services, performs a variety of probation department functions for the 1st District Court.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, counseling or closely related area.

Experience:

1 to 3 years of prior experience in criminal justice, counseling, case management or law enforcement or related capacity a plus. Must sign a Monroe County Court Employee model code of conduct. Must become a member of the Michigan Association of District Court Probation Officers (MADCPO) within the first year of employment and renew annually. Obtain & maintain Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) certification Must take the L.E.I.N certification test & be fingerprinted. Must possess a valid driver's license.
