Definition of Work:
This position provides professional case management and program support for the Jasper County Circuit Court's Treatment Court and Pretrial Services programs. Work is performed under the direction of the Court Administrator or designee, with day-to-day responsibilities carried out independently. This position screens and assesses individuals for program eligibility, coordinates case processing and participant services, facilitates evidence-based groups, supports admission and release planning, monitors compliance, and communicates relevant information to the court and partner agencies. Examples of Work Performed These examples do not cover all of the work which may be performed as part of this position. Conducts validated risk and needs assessments and other screenings to determine eligibility for court-operated programs. Prepares comprehensive release plans for incarcerated defendants. Conducts interviews with defendants, family members, and others to obtain relevant information. Manages and coordinates case processing. Manages, coordinates, and delivers services for the Jasper County Treatment Court Program. Facilitates evidence-based treatment groups. Provides case management services, including connecting participants with treatment, community-based resources, and other support services. Attends criminal dockets, provides treatment court eligibility updates, and assists with treatment court admission paperwork. Conducts home visits and other necessary fieldwork to monitor participant compliance. Conducts urinalysis screening and reports findings to the court. Performs related work as required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of court procedures, applicable statutes, and legal principles related to court operations. Considerable knowledge of the functions, availability, and services offered by public and private agencies. General knowledge of substance use disorders, behavioral health treatment, and principles associated with judicially led treatment court programs. Working knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the organization, responsibilities, and procedures of court and jail operations in Jasper County. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn technology used for case management, documentation, and reporting. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, court officials, attorneys, treatment and service providers, probation and parole officers, law enforcement personnel, and the public. Ability to organize, lead, and coordinate meetings, treatment groups, training sessions, and public forums effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to make effective oral presentations to justice system employees and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information. Ability to remain professional and exercise sound judgment while working under stress. Ability to work independently, accept supervision, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines. Required Minimum Education and Experience A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field is required. Relevant professional experience in a position with similar duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Experience in case management, criminal justice, treatment courts, behavioral health, substance use treatment, social services, or a related field is preferred.
