Job Summary The Certified Peer Specialist provides recovery-oriented peer support services using lived experience to promote engagement, retention, community integration, and sustained recovery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide peer recovery coaching and mentorship
• Support treatment engagement and retention
• Assist with recovery planning and goal setting
• Help clients access housing, employment, transportation, and community resources
• Provide advocacy and support during transitions of care
• Coordinate referrals and community linkage
• Document peer support services Cross-Training Requirement All ABC staff must receive training sufficient to:
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders
• Understand common psychotropic medications
• Explain the uses and purposes of psychotropic medications
• Understand medication interactions with substance use and addictive disorders
• Recognize signs of psychiatric decompensation and escalation Minimum Qualifications
• Certified Peer Specialist credential in Connecticut
• Qualifying lived experience in recovery
• Knowledge of local behavioral health and recovery resources
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team .

Must be available to work hybrid. Some onsite and some virtual

Pay:

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
