Full-time, 4/10s, Night Shift, (training conducted during business hours) Overview Alaska Chadux Network (ACN) is seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Compliance and Response Watchstander to join our dynamic team in Anchorage. This full-time, night-shift position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulations and coordinating swift and effective responses to potential incidents across Alaska's extensive coverage area — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and performs calmly under pressure.

Training:

Initial training will be conducted during regular business hours to ensure full integration into ACN operations and procedures. Key Responsibilities Monitoring and Compliance Monitor live maritime vessel traffic and activities within ACN's coverage area to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and adherence to safety protocols, best practices, and operational plans. Detect irregularities and identify vessels that may present an environmental risk. Track and maintain digital records of vessel movements, unique events, and other maritime activities across Alaska. Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs for vessels and onshore facilities. Conduct research and analysis to identify potential compliance issues and develop mitigation strategies. Communication and Coordination Maintain open and effective communication with vessel operators, facility managers, regulatory agencies (e.g., U.S. Coast Guard, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation), planholders, and other stakeholders. Communicate frequently with vessel captains and crews via phone and email to coordinate activities and provide updates. Respond promptly to inquiries, providing accurate and concise information. Document all communications and activities thoroughly and accurately. Prepare briefings and reports summarizing operations, trends, and projections. Emergency Response Support Serve as a central point of contact during emergency response incidents, coordinating communication and activities among vessels, facilities, response personnel, and regulatory agencies. Track the movement and status of response resources, including vessels, equipment, and personnel. Monitor weather conditions and provide relevant updates to response teams. Support the Incident Command team during emergency response operations. Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of response resources as needed. Contribute to the development and refinement of emergency response communication procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in Emergency Management, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Alaska operations, dispatch, or a related field. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and remain focused for extended periods. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data entry. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure. Familiarity with mapping systems (GIS) preferred. Experience with spill response operations and environmental regulations preferred. Valid driver's license required. Schedule and Work Environment Full-time night shift, Sunday-Wednesday night. Flex schedule of four 10-hr shifts, 10pm to 8am. Initial training will be conducted during standard business hours. On-site position located at ACN's Anchorage, Alaska facility. May be required to work weekends or holidays as part of the regular night shift rotation. Subject to emergency callback during response events (compensated).
