As our primary HSE professional, you'll work independently while partnering closely with employees, Operations, and leaders throughout the organization. We're looking for someone who can maintain a strong and visible safety presence. The ideal candidate will build credibility and relationships at all levels to ensure safety remains our top priority. You'll work closely with Senior Leadership and Operations to maintain alignment around safety priorities. This is an individual contributor role and may be structured at the Manager or Director level based on the experience, qualifications, and leadership capabilities of the successful candidate. What Will I Be Doing? As LifeMed's primary HSE professional, you'll be responsible for maintaining our health and safety programs while serving as a trusted resource throughout the organization. You'll be expected to: Maintain a strong safety presence. Spend time in our operations and at our bases across Alaska. Be curious and understand how work is being performed. Stay connected to safety needs of our teams. Collaborate and influence. Work with employees, Operations, managers, and senior leadership to understand concerns. Maintain alignment around safety priorities and develop practical solutions. Keep prevention at the forefront. Identify hazards and areas of risk and help drive actions that reduce the potential for employee injuries and operational incidents. Promote accountability. Reinforce safety expectations and work with employees and leaders to address concerns. Help us learn from incidents and near misses. Lead and support investigations and identify contributing factors and lessons learned. Influence the team with recommendations and follow-up for preventive actions. Provide meaningful data and useful information. Review and report on injury, incident, hazard, and other HSE metrics. Tell us the story of our safety culture and provide insight into where prevention efforts are having an impact and where additional focus may be needed. Maintain our safety programs. Coordinate the Safety Management System and applicable health and safety programs, regulatory and reporting requirements, OSHA standards, audits, drills, meetings, documentation, and required follow-up. Coordinate occupational health and safety programs. Oversee annual health screenings, fit-for-duty, respiratory protection, and other workforce safety requirements. Communicate and engage. You'll likely be successful here if you: Build credibility and productive relationships with frontline employees, managers, and senior leaders. Are visible, approachable, and comfortable spending time in field operations. You are curious. You listen, ask questions, and seek to understand. You can raise safety concerns and make recommendations while remaining collaborative and solutions-focused. Know how to gain alignment and influence action without having a team reporting to you. Believe safety culture requires both employee engagement and accountability. Are comfortable working independently and managing both the strategic and administrative responsibilities of the safety function.
Requirements:
What Experience Are We Looking For?
