Job Description
Environmental, Health and Sciences Coordinator Department:
Safety Position Summary:
This person will coordinate with EHS Manager in all environmental, health and safety programs. Responsible for the ISO functions of the organization. Implements and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations while coordinating required training for environmental and ISO programs. Reports directly to the EHS Manager. Duties /Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to develop environmental procedures
- Responsible for overall administration of facility ISO procedures and manuals
- Schedule EMS Committee meetings and target and objective team meetings
- Track required data and graph and trend those related to ISO objectives and targets
- Create and update ISO communication media (bulletin board, tabletops, video flyers, etc.)
- Schedule, track and when necessary conduct EMS training (ERP training, general EMS training, SOP training, etc.)
- Implement and train team on waste segregation to include coordinating universal, special and hazardous waste disposal.
- Maintain environmental compliance tracking sheet.
- Maintain all updates to manual, provide document control, file IAW ISO requirements and properly manage obsolete information.
- Conduct thorough investigations of non-conformances using the required corrective action form and root cause analysis.
- Work with EMS teams to develop preventative actions and maintain continuous improvement log.
- Schedule and participate with the EHS Manager in conducting Internal Audits, Management reviews and third-party audits.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of all local, state and federal laws and submit required data to third party for processing of regulatory reports.
- In conjunction with the EHS Manager, lead the cultural change to become more environmentally friendly at home and at work.
- Develop relationships in the local community to further environmental awareness and change.
- Works with EHS Manager to help coordinate safety education, training, investigations of accidents, and other functions as assigned by the
EHS Manager Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Associates in environmental is a plus.
- Self-motivated
- Analytical thinking
- Strong organization skills
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus
- Good people/communication skills and the ability to follow-up and hold people accountable
