The Operations and Safety Manager oversees the daily, high-volume administrative, logistical, and safety operations of the school campus. This role ensures a secure, efficient, and welcoming environment by directly managing front-office personnel and the campus safety guard team. The Manager serves as the central point of contact for daily operational problem-solving, structural coordination, and emergency response readiness.
Manage the day-to-day front office workflow to guarantee seamless communications, visitor management, and administrative efficiency.
Staff Supervision:
Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate front-office administrative staff, ensuring clear performance expectations and balanced workloads.
Process Optimization:
Identify, develop, and implement streamlined administrative procedures to reduce operational bottlenecks and relieve team pressure. 2.
Campus Security & Guard Management Security Team Supervision:
Serve as the direct supervisor for all campus safety guards, managing schedules, shift coverage, and daily posts.
Safety Protocol Enforcement:
Ensure all security personnel are thoroughly trained on school policies, emergency response protocols, and visitor screening workflows.
Incident Management:
Serve as the primary administrative contact for on-campus security escalations, incident reporting, and coordination with local law enforcement if required. 3.
Oversee daily logistical needs including traffic flow patterns during drop-off/pick-up zones, event setups, and vendor access.
Emergency Preparedness:
Coordinate campus safety drills (fire, earthquake, active threat) and maintain updated crisis management documentation in alignment with institutional guidelines.
Vendor Management:
Act as the operational liaison for campus facilities vendors, maintenance requests, and safety equipment inspections.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, military/law enforcement supervision, institutional security, or school administration.
Leadership Skills:
Proven track record of managing personnel, creating accountable team structures, and handling high-pressure operational environments.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with staff, students, parents, guards, and external agencies.
Problem-Solving:
Strong critical-thinking skills with a natural ability to troubleshoot daily logistical and personnel challenges independently.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute). Institutional Compliance (Archdiocese of Los Angeles)
Background Clearance:
Must successfully complete the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Live Scan fingerprinting and background clearance.
Safe Environment Training:
Completion of the mandatory Virtus® Protecting God's Children training within 30 days of hire. Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
