Full Job Description Description:
Crystal Creamery is seeking an experienced Quality, Food Safety & Environmental Supervisor to join our manufacturing team working Sunday through Thursday 3pm to 11:30 pm. This position is responsible for overseeing quality, food safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory programs within the manufacturing facility. The position will provide leadership to Quality personnel, work closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments, and ensure that products and processes meet company, customer, regulatory, and food safety requirements. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
Essential Responsibilities Quality & Food Safety Supervise and provide leadership, training, coaching, and direction to Quality employees. Ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety programs. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards. Maintain and enforce GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, SQF , and other applicable food safety requirements. Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs), preventive controls, process controls, and required documentation. Investigate quality and food safety issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Place product on hold when necessary and coordinate investigation, disposition, and release of non-conforming product. Lead or participate in root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Review quality records, production documentation, laboratory results, and other required records for accuracy and completeness. Identify trends and opportunities for improvement and communicate significant issues to management. Support customer complaints, product investigations, traceability exercises, mock recalls, and actual recalls when required. Assist with internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits. Environmental Compliance Oversee environmental compliance programs for the manufacturing facility. Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements. Coordinate environmental inspections, sampling, testing, reporting, and recordkeeping. Work with regulatory agencies, consultants, and vendors as needed. Investigate environmental incidents and coordinate corrective actions. Ensure employees understand and follow applicable environmental procedures. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Lead and develop Quality employees through training, coaching, and accountability. Establish clear expectations and ensure employees follow Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, and company procedures. Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Engineering, and Management to resolve quality and environmental issues. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve product quality, food safety, efficiency, and compliance. Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, forms, and other documentation. Use data and trend analysis to identify recurring issues and recommend solutions. Promote a strong culture of food safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and accountability throughout the facility. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in food science , Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience may be considered. 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, food safety, environmental compliance, or a related regulated manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, SSOPs, and food safety principles . Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and regulatory programs. Experience with internal and external audits. Experience conducting investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound decisions. Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality management/documentation systems. Ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
