This position works closely with laboratory management, analyst, administrative staff, vendors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities and capable of identifying operational or safety concerns before they affect employees, clients, or laboratory productivity. Lab Operations and Safety Duties Coordinate daily laboratory operations and help maintain an efficient workflow. Monitor workload, supply levels and operational priorities. Manage and maintain all laboratory rental equipment. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, personal protective equipment, chemicals, compressed gases and general facility supplies. Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, calibrations and vendor service visits. Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, service documentations and equipment-related records. Aid in training employees on laboratory safety, equipment use and workplace conduct. Manage and conduct routine safety inspections and document findings and corrective actions. Maintain the Chemical Hygiene Plan, Emergency Action Plan and other required safety documents. Oversee chemical labeling, storage, handling and disposal. Coordinate hazardous-waste pickups and maintain required waste records and manifests. Maintain emergency equipment, including eyewash stations, spill kits, fire extinguishers, first-aid supplies and emergency exists. Monitor compliance with applicable Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, DTSC, fire code and local safety requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, chemistry, biology, industrial hygiene, laboratory science, operations management or a related field. Knowledge of OSHA or Cal/OSHA workplace-safety requirements. Experience managing safety records, inspections employee training or regulatory documentation. Strong organization, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond appropriately to urgent operational issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic record keeping systems. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional supply pickups, training or vendor-related needs.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
