Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Safety Manager to lead our food safety and quality assurance initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust food safety systems that ensure compliance with regulatory standards and uphold the highest quality standards in production. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in food safety practices, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure our products meet stringent legal and industry requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the safety and integrity of our products while supporting a culture of excellence and compliance. Responsibilities Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in food safety, quality assurance, or produce industry related to fresh produce, packing houses, cold storage and agricultural operation Ideal additional experience in fruit ripening, QA/QC, and supply chain. Must be PSR Grower (2024 or later) and PCQI certified Prior supervisory or leadership experience. Strong knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, FSMA, FSVP, Preventive Controls, GMPs, GAP, SSOP, and GFSI standards Experience with environmental monitoring programs and microbiological testing required. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, CDFA) Experience with 3rd Party Audits specifically PirmusGFS Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, food safety manuals, product specifications, tailored training programs and cheklists. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Pro, relevant Produce Industry or supply chain ERP platforms or QMS. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, auditors, and customers. Must be able to travel as needed between fields and facilities. Experience Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role within the food or beverage industry. Strong knowledge of
HACCP, CGMP
(Current Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO 9001 standards, and FDA regulations related to food safety. Demonstrated ability to conduct quality audits, inspections, and analysis using tools like GDT (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and Lean management principles. Experience leading teams with effective team leadership skills and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Familiarity with quality control techniques such as QA/QC procedures, GMP compliance, regulatory/legal standards in production environments, and regulatory compliance management. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data accurately for decision-making purposes. Prior experience implementing Six Sigma manufacturing processes or similar quality systems is highly desirable. $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
