The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing company safety policies, execute project safety requirements, and ensuring compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations. Key Responsibilities Manage Company-Wide Safety Programs and Ensure Regulatory Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain a Site-Specific Safety Program (SSSP) that addresses all known project hazards. Serve as the designated on-site Safety Representative for the duration of projects. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety training. Superintend all project safety activities and provide daily safety oversight. Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits. Advise Senior Management on regulatory compliance and risk management. Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions. Maintain all required safety documentation and records. Be available after normal working hours when conditions require.

Required Qualifications Candidates must possess:

• Minimum of 3 years of safety experience working in heavy civil construction safety Thorough knowledge of: Construction safety procedures Cal/OSHA regulations California Code of Regulations Title 8 Heavy construction safety practices Ability to identify hazards and develop effective corrective actions. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Required Training Candidates must have successfully completed one of the following: Cal/OSHA 30-Hour - Cal/OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry

OR OSHA 510 - OSHA

Standards for the Construction Industry Required Certifications Applicants must possess at least one of the following current professional certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Master Safety Professional (MSP) Certified Safety Director (CSD) Additional Required Certifications Current certifications in: First Aid CPR Preferred Qualifications Experience working on Caltrans or other public works projects. Strong working knowledge of construction risk management and incident investigation. Ability to foster a proactive safety culture through leadership and collaboration.
