Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 405 Pike Road, WPB 36325 Acts as a liaison between Fire Rescue and the public. Develops, presents, and evaluates community education programs. Develops a wide range of audio-visual materials to enhance presentations. Develops informational material focusing on fire or life safety objectives for a target audience. Develops and markets a community risk reduction plan based on national and local fire and life safety education goals. Evaluates effectiveness of education programs and makes changes as needed. Prepares activity reports and documents fire and life safety educational activities. Proposes fire and life safety policies and guidelines with justification, explanations, and desired results for behavior and economic benefits or impacts.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: An Associate's Degree in Education, Public Relations, Public Administration, Fire Science, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Florida (FL) Fire, Building, or Code Enforcement Inspector, or Fire/Safety-related Public Educator, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of experience as a FL Fire, Building, or Code Enforcement Inspector, or Fire/Safety-related Public Educator.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

The selected candidate for this position: Must possess a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification at the time of application, AND Must obtain FL Fire Safety Inspector I Certification within 12 months of date of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application) : An Associate Degree or higher in Fire Science, Fire Protection, or related field, Four (4) years of full-time experience inspecting commercial structures relating to fire and other technical construction disciplines such as building, mechanical, electrical, and structural, FL State Certified Fire Inspector, and Any additional national and state certifications in fire protection/inspections or other related fields.
