A leading global supplier for mechanical drive systems has the reputation for highest performance, innovation, quality, for over 125 years. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for leading, administering, and continuously improving the EHS programs at a heavy equipment assembly facility. This role drives regulatory compliance, injury reduction, environmental performance, energy optimization, and the development of a proactive safety culture. The EHS Manager reports to the Plant Manager and has site-wide responsibility and influence over EHS performance. This position works closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, logistics, quality, HR, corporate EHS, global EHS functions, and other internal stakeholders The EHS Manager is expected to be a visible, hands-on leader who is regularly present on the production floor, coach's supervisors and manages, identifies risks, drives accountability, and has the authority to stop unsafe work when necessary. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of site EHS programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives. Develop, implement, and monitor EHS goals, metrics, and key performance indicators, including OIR, LTIR, near misses, risk observations, corrective actions, and other safety/environmental measures. Provide regular EHS updates to the Plant Manager, site leadership, corporate EHS, and global EHS stakeholders as required. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant agencies. Maintain compliance with internal EHS programs, including hazardous waste, SDS/MSDS, PPE, spill prevention, business continuity, emergency preparedness, and environmental requirements. Ensure required inspections, records, reports, corrective actions, and permit-related activities are completed and maintained. ISO, Audits, and Management Systems Support compliance with ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
requirements, including management system Support alignment with integrated corporate management systems, including coordination with quality and operational management systems Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations to ensure safety risks are identified and mitigated before equipment or process changes are implemented. Stop-Work Authority and Safety Leadership Exercise stop-work authority when an unsafe condition, unsafe behavior, environmental risk, or an uncontrolled hazard is identified. Ensure employees, supervisors, and managers understand their responsibility to stop unsafe work Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree 3-5 years of related experience Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Additional professional certifications preferred, such as
CSP, ASP, CHMM, OHST, OSHA
30, First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, forklift trainer, or similar relevant certifications.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
