The EHS lead is pivotal in driving change and revamping the safety program for a privately owned manufacturing site of approximately 500 associates. Further this position ensures the integration of environmental, health, and safety across manufacturing, warehouse, office, engineering, supply chain and many other departments in a manufacturing setting. This role requires a seasoned professional with a working knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk management, and the ability to drive a safety culture throughout the organization. The EHS lead is a trusted advisor for workplace safety and a partner that is able to collaborate across several departments, build rapport, communicate at all levels, and ultimately implement initiatives catered to a diverse workforce. General Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Provide training and education to employees on EHS practices, including CPR, first aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, and occupational health.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on EHS performance and incidents.
• Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving workplace safety and reducing risk.
• Stay up to date on current EHS regulations and industry best practices.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers compensation laws.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the

forms. Submit yearly data of Injury and Illness data to OSHA and DOL.

• Coordinate with external agencies, such as fire departments or regulatory bodies, as necessary.
• Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
• Develops and maintains health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
• Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
• Lead safety team and safety meetings.
• Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
• Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
• Ensures that Safety Data Sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
• Maintains records of discharge of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required. Quality System responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field. Required Competencies
• Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish and English proficiently Professionalism, tact, and presentation are all essential elements of the job.
• Management of Windows software, primarily focused on MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Advanced user of Excel
• Knowledge of manufacturing product requirements, processes, and equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both for internal and external customers, as well as effective time management skills Experience
• 5-10 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a privately owned and manufacturing environment. We would also consider a combination of EHS and HR experience that equal to the 5-10 years requirement.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification with combination of 5-10 years of health and safety management experience.
• Proven experience in a senior health and safety management role with track record of successful implementation of health and safety programs.
• In-depth knowledge of Illinois and federal safety regulations.
• Ability to influence and inspire change at all organizational levels.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
